Overlooking Derwent Water, and home to the famous pencil factory of the same name, Surprise View sits on the side of the road outside Keswick, in the Lakes District of the UK. A moody day, brightened by the beautiful green palette of the english countryside.

This blue hour artwork of Tamworth, NSW captured from Oxley Scenic Lookout was one I was surprised about. I wasn't as focused as normal this night as we had just arrived in Tamworth earlier in the afternoon after a stressful couple of days getting our caravan stuck and then unstuck, but Amanda & I both needed to get out and do something we love, and we are so glad we did. 

Not only did we enjoy this amazing lookout, a warm summer evening and capture this artwork, we met another travelling family and immediately became friends. This then led to a wonderful couple of days meeting up and enjoying all the Tamworth das to offer. Another thing we love about being on the road exploring and capturing, making life long friends and memories. 

 Moonbi Lookout, about 20 minutes North of Tamworth on the road to Armidale provides amazing views down the Tamworth Valley. This lookout was built in the 1930's as part of Australia's infrastructure projects to drag us out of the Great Depression.
 
A huge granite boulder sits on top of the hill, and a staircase and railings have been built next to it, providing an amazing place to view the valley from, and even free camp at. 

 Captured Tannum Sands looking towards Gladstone, I didn't expect the sky to light up as it did. It was dull and just the sun popping under the thick clouds. I did my thing, then waited a little longer just in case and wow did it pop!! 

A long exposure smooths the water, as the sun sets over the Tessellated Pavement at Eagle Hawk Neck on the Tasman Peninsula. 

 Captured from the skies above the unique Lady Musgrave Island, located in the Southern Great Barrier Reef, this image depicts life on the island, pure bliss. 

This famous (among photographers) tree stands near the lookout at Binalong Bay. We were here late afternoon on a stormy day and waited and watched as the sunset came over. 

The forgotten waterfall of Cape York, QLD. One of the most stunning in the Cooktown area. 

 What a stunning location this is. As you arrive, you park up on the hilltop, and wander down a set of steps, with the magical pool unveiling itself before you. Best seen on a warm summers day, bring your swimmers! Summer is absolutely the mood for this image. 

Uluru Sunset, captured after 4 attempts to get a good sunset!

 After capturing this stunning blue water spot from above, I ventured underneath, suspecting that a structured under jetty photo might be possible. I am always on the lookout for these, as the symmetry and leading lines provided by a jetty above can make for a striking image. They are surprisingly rare though! I love the simple colours and beauty of this structure. 

 Arno Bay, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia 

After a gravel road to enter Byfield National Park, and then a short walk from the park, we wandered up the river to encounter this beautiful site known as Upper Stoney Creek. With deadly Stonefish living in the river, it's not the best place to swim, however its beauty shines through here as the green leaves highlight the massive paperbarks flowing over the river.

 Captured at Wanggalooba Creek, on Fraser Island, this crystal clear fresh water creek was something I have never seen before. Just a short 20min walk from our Central Station Campground led us along the creek and down to many magical sections of the creek.

The sand is white on the creek bed, and with just a few inches of water flowing over the top it looks dry, until you see the glistening water surface. I ducked down the creek banks and made my way down the creek, scoping out compositions on the way, before I found this fallen tree across the creek bed. I quickly got really low down the the creeks surface to capture this unique composition.

 One of the intense slot canyons of Weano Gorge. After swimming through Icy water after Handrail Pool, this amazing formation sits, before turning the corner to a whole new vista.

Whitehaven beach, the world's best beach, needs no introduction. It was incredible to finally see it in person, and it definitely did not disappoint, white sand, sunshine and clear bright blue water gently lapping at the sands edge. We could have sat here all day! It was a great spot for our lunch and a quick photo to provide those bright blue and white colours that are fashionable in houses at the moment.

 An Aerial footage of the incredible Willie Creek, as the blue water wends it's way up into the mud/salt flats, surrounded by Mangroves. This is prime Saltwater Crocodile territory, and you definitely wouldn't go swimming here, but the way that nature's beauty shines in this image captivates me. 

 We reached the top of Wineglass Bay, hoping for an amazing sunset, and as we climbed over the peak and and saw the amazing view, the clouds and rain started rolling across the bay from the far side.  I scoped out the shot composition I wanted, packed the camera away in it's bag, and we settled into our raincoats jackets and umbrellas to wait out the storm and see if something unique could happen. After 20 minutes, we got a break in the clouds and the sunset poked through, allowing me this unique and interesting image, far from the normal blue waters of Wineglass Bay. 

I was on a quick trip down the East Coast of NSW one afternoon and it was approaching sunset/dinner time. I did a quick google of a town near by with something of photography interest and came across Woolgoolga. The sky was looking interesting and I didn't have much time to get myself organised, but that's ok, as very rarely it pays off like this one did. 

What a way to end our day along the Bloomfield Track. This is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Cooktown Region, Cape York, QLD. Just a short rock hopping walk leads you to this huge waterfall, but you cannot swim here, one word, Crocodiles!

This creek in the beautiful Mossman Gorge near Port Douglas is the absolute embodiment of beauty in nature.

We recently went to this location during the wet season, and this creek is a solid 3km walk through the rainforest to get to. By the time we reached it, I took about 3 photo's then couldn't stand it any more, stripped off and went for a swim! The water was seriously chilly and extremely refreshing.

This is one of my favourite locations from recent shoots.

One summer evening we decided to join friends for a picnic at Warner's Bay. They told us it's usually lovely there for sunset, music, cheese and crackers. But this particular evening there was a storm approaching after a rainy day so the music was cancelled. We convened with our friends and decided to risk the weather and enjoy a night off from working. Ha, who am I kidding, I'm always working when we are out and about at sunset.

We were all sitting there and then all of a sudden we looked at each other and said 'I think the sunset might actually do something interesting'. I left Amanda, Aria and our friends, Erica and Ash and ran to the car to get my gear.

As I set myself up, this young couple perched themselves on the end of the pier, enjoying the moment, each other's company and their love for each other. The sun continued to set and give off these amazing sun rays and light up the sky. The lake was silent, calm and elegant, it matched the mood of this young couple perfectly.

The storm was still getting closer, so not long after this shot we packed up to head home before we got wet. Such a contrast to what was miserable rainy day.
