Knutholmen Is a village on the Atlantic Coast of Norway, It has a rich tradition of fishing and drying the fish, with drying racks dominating any empty space on the islands to this day. We stayed here and had this amazing view for the night, however I had to wait until Midnight to capture this!

A beautiful pastel vertical panorama image that sweeps you off your feet into the serenity of the ocean. Taken as sunset glows behind, the aqua water shines through the waves as they roll onto the shore.
I tend to find myself drifting off to an unknown world when I look into the image. I wonder where I can go next in my life journey and what is on the horizon for me and my family. I can feel the sand washing out from under my toes as I sink into the image.
I created this artwork to bring some Newcastle peace and calmness to my space and remind me the future is beyond tomorrow, it is all the days ahead.

Captured while staying at Belmont Pines Holiday Park in the Lake Macquarie area over summer, this stunning sunset looking towards Belmont 16s over Belmont Bay is a calming idyllic artwork that the area depicts. I was spoilt for choice with the caravan park surrounded by water that I left it up to the clouds to decide which direction I'd be shooting this evening.

Captured while staying at Belmont Pines Holiday Park in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie area) over summer, this stunning sunset shows what the Lake Macquarie area is known for, fishing on calm waters. I was just managed to capture this artwork before the rain begun, but Amanda missed out as she was too slow walking with the dogs and Aria to meet me, it doesn't look like the rain was coming, but it goes to show how the weather can change so quickly.

Taken on a blustery winter evening, The warm golden tones of the rocks at the Bogey Hole in Newcastle light up this image.
The rocks were extremely slippery, and I had to take extreme caution when getting to this spot, my backpack lowered down from above by my partner. Getting exactly the right composition was a challenge as the rocks fall away from where I wanted to take my image from. I used the full extent of my 2.5m Tripod to get this, as I sat perched on the rocks waiting for the perfect light.
This image is a panorama, stitched together from 4 full sized images to give me an amazing amount of detail and let me print this really large in beautiful Fine Art quality.

This image was commissioned by a customer, to whom this area was very special, particularly the Yellow Rock Bluff above. We spend a few days in the area around Broke looking for compositions and testing them out. We then made a few trips out to the Valley when the clouds looked like they may light up, unsuccessfully, until finally this night we got it! The Cherry tree is in full bloom next to a farm dam, and the Yellow Rock Bluff looks down over the scene.

We stayed nearby at the Busselton Jetty Caravan Park, so that I was able to pop down as many nights as needed to try and capture this iconic location. Luckily on our 3rd night in Busselton I rode down and was lucky enough to be able to execute my concept image, with the sky and water playing ball.

It was a cold cold winter's evening at Catherine hill Bay, but what's landscape photography without enduring all of the seasons? We wandered around to various locations surrounding the bay and the jetty, unsure what the sunset was going to bring.
I settled on this composition as I loved the contrasting colours and the idea of how something threatened to be demolished sees the end of another day, surviving, just a little longer. Once used for loading coal, this jetty lies sleeping with many photographers enjoying its presence, its history and its unique character.

This image was a lucky capture that I shot while leading a photography workshop. I spent my afternoon teaching others how I go about my photography captures and after helping and setting the participants up with their compositions I decided it was my turn to have some fun. So while jumping between participants and my own camera I spent a few minutes on this one.
I love the contrast of day and night, whist showing life in Newcastle city, reflected in the Canoe Pool at Newcastle Baths.

As the last light of the day fades on the Coffs Harbour Jetty, I was setup and waiting for the lamps to turn on. We had had dinner in the area and Aria my Daughter ruined a few images by playing with my tripod legs, but luckily patience won the day, and I managed to capture a steady and still image, right at the end of sunset.

A wonderful warm summer evening at Coogee Beach, near Perth, Western Australia. I waited at the start of the Jetty for what seemed like hours, to get a gap in the pedestrian traffic, as everyone headed out onto the Jetty on this beautiful evening. Finally, a break, and I managed to capture this beautiful shot.

Sunset at Corindi Beach Point was magical this night. We were staying at the Reflections Caravan Park near Coffs Harbour, NSW where it is a short walk to the beach. Amanda convinced me to head out for sunset as the clouds were similar to the previous night where it unexpectedly lit up all around us while we were having dinner. I'm so glad she did as it was one of the most amazing sunsets we'd had in some time. I knew from swimming amongst the rockpools earlier that day that the water was a crystal clear blue so had already decided I wanted that in my artwork. This is the first of 3 images in this Corindi Beach collection as the sunset lasted a long time and changed so much, I couldn't resist continuing to capture three totally different works.

"Corinidi Sunset" is the 2nd artwork in my Corindi Beach collection. This spectacular sunset evening at Corindi Beach, NSW (in the Coffs Harbour Region) had a rainbow of colours and tones, with the weather changing drastically over the hour that sunset took place. This image shows the calming tranquil beach that continues through to Woolgoolga. Although it doesn't look like it, to capture this image, I was ankle deep in water and had the waves crashing against my tripod. This always makes me nervous, but it is worth it to ensure I can create the artwork I imagine in my head.

Hastings Point, NSW and the Hastings Point Lookout was a picturesque location with views as far North and South as your eyes could see. Taken during Golden hour, I loved the colours and shapes of the rocks forming the base of the Hastings Point headland. I love the movement of the clear blue water in the foreground against the steadiness of the rocks. It makes me feel grounded, yet free.

I have been trying to capture this overview of Merewether for many years now, coming back regularly, hoping for the perfect sunset to set the blue colours of the pools off.
I finally captured one recently. The composition requires some dangerous climbing, but it's the only way to get to what I wanted. I set up, perched on a rock ledge on the cliff and waited, patiently hoping that sunset would be a beautiful one, and not a fizzer.
Dark clouds were coming over from inland and I was extremely worried that it would block the setting sun.
I waited it out in the cold wind, sitting cross legged under my camera and tripod. Just as I was getting ready to call it an evening, the clouds on the horizon began to pick up these beautiful pink colours.
To me this image represents life in Merewether for many Novocastrians, as this is how many spend their weekends and days.

This is my 2nd visit to Devils Marbles (Karlu Karlu) and luckily this time I wasn't on a time schedule and could spend the night camping and exploring this amazing area. I went out mid afternoon after it had cooled a little to scout for my composition. I had something in mind in all 4 directions as I wasn't sure what the clouds were going to do. Once I was a little more decided and just before the start of sunset I jumped on my electric unicycle, Amanda on the mountain bike and we hit the track to this particular section.

The Cliffs of Casuarina Coastal Reserve, get kissed by the last rays of the setting sun. Swell action gives the water in front of me an ethereal pattern.
I had one eye out for crocodiles and one on the scene in front of me, my tripod was sinking with every wave and the sunset was fading fast. It was an intense time trying to stay calm and composed while having so much go on around me, that I couldn't control, affecting my shot.

A peaceful country evening settles on the Hunter Valley as the Paterson River flows under the Dunmore Bridge, one of many similar styles of bridge in the area.
I was lucky enough to meet the owner of this land, a farmer, as he returned home from tending cattle in the fields. We had a quick chat and he gave me permission to jump his fence which helped me to get this composition.
This warm historical piece will bring a country feel to any area of your house.

Greg and Tarnya visited our Gallery in January as they had been looking to replace a canvas piece they had with something new and modern.
They always wanted a beautiful image of Lake Macquarie, but Greg also really liked the idea of bringing the outside in, by having a shot of their view from their balcony on their wall inside.
We discussed our commission service and Greg and Tarnya welcomed us into their home to capture the shot for them.
This amazing evening occurred on our second visit and attempt, after the weather not playing the part on our first visit.
The added bonus of a commission piece is you can be standing with us while we capture the image and they were. Greg and Tarnya were both amazed with the light show that Mother Nature was providing. They said "we have never seen this here before, the sun rays are amazing". Upon delivery and unveiling of their 80" Acrylic Face-mount print, they told us they still hadn't seen anything like that night since and that the print was "PERFECT!".
We loved getting to know and working with Greg and Tarnya and cannot wait to see the image once it is hung on the wall.

We didn't think this farmhouse photo would happen. I had to abandon my dinner halfway through to jump on my bike and race over to this beautiful old farmhouse next to where we were staying at Camp on Allyn. The vines have been slowly taking over this farmhouse for years, reclaiming it bit by bit. Watch our Capture story here on our Youtube - https://youtu.be/Sh4VSiqkHzs

Taken on the shore of Fitzroy Island, in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Cairns, this image captures the coral beach, the amazing clear blue water and stunning sunset glow. We were having dinner and thought there was going to be too much cloud in the sky for the sky to light up, but when it started Amanda raced back to our room in the Resort to grab my gear for me, while I tried to work out my composition.

Glenrock Reserve had been on my list for a while so after leaving Charlestown, Amanda and I spotted a massive storm heading straight for us from further inland.
We quickly decided to head to a spot we had heard about but not been to yet, Glenrock Lookout. We arrived just in time to see the leading edge of the storm, and ran out to the lookout with our equipment. I scouted a few compositions but wasn’t blown away by any of the images I got.
The rain started to hit heavily, so it was a wet jog back to the car to sit it out.
As we were in the car, I started to see an amazing glow behind me, as sunset started to hit the rear of the storm overhead. The worst of the rain was past, so I jumped back out and absolutely sprinted back to the lookout, headed to one of the compositions I had previously scouted and setup. The light lasted like this only long enough for me to capture the 3 images for this panoramic sequence. The shots before and afterward completely missed the rainbows.
This image reinforces to me the mantra of, Right place at the right time!

This Gold Coast Sunset artwork taken from the Ian Dipple Lagoon, really brings the warmth. The Gold Coast apartments and foreshore definitely depict the Gold Coast lifestyle. I was really hoping the sky would light up in the opposite direction however, I have no control over it so have to be prepared to bring forward my creativity on the spot and bring this moment in time to life and artform.

The very little known, tiny suburb of Green Point lies just south of Forster/Tuncurry. There are about 4 streets, a telephone box and a rural fire brigade here, with most people working and schooling in Forster.
We were headed back to our Caravan from a day out in Forster when we decided to try this tiny side road and see what was down it. We managed to find a road that went down past the water, and found this magical spot with a few tinnies moored.

I was driving during sunset and looking eagerly for a place with some height to capture the beauty of the regions farmland, and the river that makes it possible, when I encountered this modern bridge across the Hunter River, named Irrawang Bridge. The large reeds and trees reflecting in the still waters, and the shallow riverbanks lining this majestic river bring the countryside to your home.

On this summer night the clouds lit up for me. This spot lies atop a hill in the Hunter Valley, covered in vines. I love looking through the vines out at the sky, the lush green leaves frame the pink sky above and draw you into the image.

A commonly shot spot, familiar to many people that have spent time in the Maitland area. Resting alongside a now busy suburban road, leading between East Maitland and the historic Township of Morpeth, this remnant of the past is kept in good repair and fresh paint by its diligent owners.

Deep in the restoration area of the famous Stockton Sand Dunes, this tree has survived alone on its Dune.
4WD access only gets you so far, before the no driving restoration area. I reached the edge about 20 minutes before sunset and commenced my hike in to this lone tree that we spotted from the beach. It was a hard slog through the sand, and I only just managed to get to the dune in time as the sky lit up in an amazing display.
Sometimes you just get lucky and this night was one of those. I tried several different compositions, and struggled with the strong wind blowing the tree branches around, preventing a sharp shot. I hope you enjoy this simple, pastel representation of the Stockton Sand Dunes near Newcastle, Australia.

I have been to Nightcliff for sunset photo's many times over the years I have lived up here, and every time found something unique to photograph.
However today I decided that I really wanted a lighter, more vibrant image of Nightcliff Jetty than my current, quite dark and purple photograph.
I have never been lucky enough before to get such a sunset as this. I headed up straight after work and my lovely wife Amanda met me there with our puppies.
I scrambled around scoping out some new area's and shots before settling on the classic rock ledge as my spot for the evening.
As soon as the sun started to dip near the horizon, I could see the water contrasting a beautiful blue, and there was just enough cloud cover to start throwing some colour over the sky.
This image of the recognisable Nightcliff ocean sunset will become a Darwin classic and will brighten homes across the country.

Taken as the very last light of the day leaves the sky, this image reflects the serenity of one of the worlds most precious regions, Kakadu National Park.
The looming cliffs contrast with the extraordinarily green foliage as the vegetation here thrives even in the middle of the Dry Season.
Getting in here is a 4WD only trek, but well worth it if you can ever get here to have a look.
The National Park manages saltwater crocodiles here to make it safe to swim, you can see their boat in the foreground, and if you have eagle eyes you can spot the huge Salty croc trap on the banks of the river.

I'm happy to present this beautiful image with the colours of another gorgeous outback sunset.
This image was taken at the Gunlom Infinity Pool lookout right at the last light of sunset.
The creek is called Waterfall Creek, and plunges over the escarpment to the Gunlom plunge pool and eventually on to the South Alligator River.
The flow is mostly stopped here during the dry, allowing access and beautiful calm pictures from this magical spot, far above the ancient landscape below.

I am proud to present this image that captures the beauty of an outback sunset, from atop the Baruwei Lookout. The sun has just dipped below the horizon and the clouds are receiving the last little bit of light and reflecting it down to the rocks below.
I have to thank my forever helpful assistant (and wife) Amanda for making the climb up with me (and camping in a swag!) whilst 5 months pregnant, I think the view was worth it.

Whilst heading out for our anniversary dinner, my wife and I saw this gorgeous landscape laid out before us as we drove past. Pokolbin, Hunter Valley is a magical suburb containing so many beautiful small wineries.
This property sits on a low hill, and I made the most of the flowing vines leading to the house on the hill, as the last of the evening sun disappeared well below the horizon.

It was a breezy winters afternoon when my family and I headed down to the Bogey Hole, Newcastle, intent on capturing its unique beauty for a fine art photograph. Neither Amanda or I had been here before, so it was an exciting new venture for us.
As we predicted, there was some interesting cloud cover, and we were hoping they would hang around in the right place and produce one of the elements for making a great sunset. I risked slipping over when climbing some wet mossy rocks, to test various different compositions, until I settled on the one I liked and could use for my creative piece I had in mind.
After the majority of the sunset had been, I quickly returned to the main platform which is just above the level of the water and grabbed this vertical shot. This was the second creation I imagined which shows the layers of both sky and water, as the last of the sun lit up the band of clouds.
We imagine this art piece being featured at the end of an entrance way or hallway, due to the simple, clean composition and lively summer feel.

Captured at 1am during Summer, This outstanding image had me standing out with Sheep on the beach for about 2 hours, as the sun dropped just under the horizon and then bobbed back up again. Mutee Head, Cape York - I was free camping in this amazing spot near the top of Cape York, and we stayed for a few nights, hoping to see some turtles nesting. Mutee Head, Cape York - Our caravan is in the background of this shot, facing North towards the tip of Cape York. A very long exposure here has smoothed out the waves and the clouds, while picking up the beautiful backscatter of purple light from the sun setting.
