At the bottom of Dales Gorge in Karijini National Park lies Fortescue Falls, reached by a slog up the canyon, or a walk down the nice new stairs, followed by some rock scrambling to get to the base.

One summer evening we decided to join friends for a picnic at Warner's Bay. They told us it's usually lovely there for sunset, music, cheese and crackers. But this particular evening there was a storm approaching after a rainy day so the music was cancelled. We convened with our friends and decided to risk the weather and enjoy a night off from working. Ha, who am I kidding, I'm always working when we are out and about at sunset.
We were all sitting there and then all of a sudden we looked at each other and said 'I think the sunset might actually do something interesting'. I left Amanda, Aria and our friends, Erica and Ash and ran to the car to get my gear.
As I set myself up, this young couple perched themselves on the end of the pier, enjoying the moment, each other's company and their love for each other. The sun continued to set and give off these amazing sun rays and light up the sky. The lake was silent, calm and elegant, it matched the mood of this young couple perfectly.
The storm was still getting closer, so not long after this shot we packed up to head home before we got wet. Such a contrast to what was miserable rainy day.

A peaceful country evening settles on the Hunter Valley as the Paterson River flows under the Dunmore Bridge, one of many similar styles of bridge in the area.
I was lucky enough to meet the owner of this land, a farmer, as he returned home from tending cattle in the fields. We had a quick chat and he gave me permission to jump his fence which helped me to get this composition.
This warm historical piece will bring a country feel to any area of your house.

We reached the top of Wineglass Bay, hoping for an amazing sunset, and as we climbed over the peak and and saw the amazing view, the clouds and rain started rolling across the bay from the far side. I scoped out the shot composition I wanted, packed the camera away in it's bag, and we settled into our raincoats jackets and umbrellas to wait out the storm and see if something unique could happen. After 20 minutes, we got a break in the clouds and the sunset poked through, allowing me this unique and interesting image, far from the normal blue waters of Wineglass Bay.

It was a hard days driving to finally reach Hammersley Gorge, in the Karijini National Park. After a relatively easy walk down to the bottom of the gorge, the trek over to the spa pool was treacherous and sketchy. We waited until the sun had left the sky for this image.

A wonderful warm summer evening at Coogee Beach, near Perth, Western Australia. I waited at the start of the Jetty for what seemed like hours, to get a gap in the pedestrian traffic, as everyone headed out onto the Jetty on this beautiful evening. Finally, a break, and I managed to capture this beautiful shot.

This is my 2nd visit to Devils Marbles (Karlu Karlu) and luckily this time I wasn't on a time schedule and could spend the night camping and exploring this amazing area. I went out mid afternoon after it had cooled a little to scout for my composition. I had something in mind in all 4 directions as I wasn't sure what the clouds were going to do. Once I was a little more decided and just before the start of sunset I jumped on my electric unicycle, Amanda on the mountain bike and we hit the track to this particular section.

Captured while staying at Belmont Pines Holiday Park in Belmont, NSW (Lake Macquarie area) over summer, this stunning sunset shows what the Lake Macquarie area is known for, fishing on calm waters. I was just managed to capture this artwork before the rain begun, but Amanda missed out as she was too slow walking with the dogs and Aria to meet me, it doesn't look like the rain was coming, but it goes to show how the weather can change so quickly.

The very little known, tiny suburb of Green Point lies just south of Forster/Tuncurry. There are about 4 streets, a telephone box and a rural fire brigade here, with most people working and schooling in Forster.
We were headed back to our Caravan from a day out in Forster when we decided to try this tiny side road and see what was down it. We managed to find a road that went down past the water, and found this magical spot with a few tinnies moored.

Newcastle Baths, my favourite photo spot in Newcastle, NSW. I love it so much because there are such a variety of things and seascapes in a small area, with 3 different sides, so no matter which way clouds are lighting up at sunset or sunrise you can get something beautiful.
These fisherman were standing right in the way of my composition, I loved the leading line of the water channel drawing the viewers eye into the image. I quickly thought about the final image I wanted and decided to take advantage of the fishermen to really set the scene, an iconic Australian past time in a beautiful setting.

An amazing winter location, just North of the Hunter Region in the Barrington Tops lies this Pine Forest known as 'The Firs'. The mist of the snowy day rings mystery to the area and I feels bring a different perspective and feel to this artwork.

This unnamed shearing hut in the heart of the Hunter Valley farmlands, captured on a smokey summers evening displays both an important slice of Australian heritage, and also a beautiful memory of time gone by.
The golden grasses of summer combine with debris from the shearing shed to litter the ground, on a still working farm, located on Old North Road near Cessnock, NSW.

This lone mangrove stands, watching, at the far ocean edge of the Nightcliff rock platform, and is only accessible when the tide drops low.
I headed out last night with a plan - I've been wanting to photograph this little tree for a while now but the tides just haven't been right when I've been able to get out there. Thankfully mother nature played ball for me and put on a show.

I am happy to release this beautiful image from my time in Nitmiluk.
The sun rose over the tops of the gorge, just managing to light up the tops as the clouds received the morning glow treatment.
The green foliage contrasts beautiful with the rocks, their natural hues enhanced by the golden sunrise glow.

This Port Stephens sunset image captures the relaxing atmosphere of the peninsula perfectly.
I have never seen the waters of Tilligerry Creek, Port Stephens as calm as at Sunset on this winter’s afternoon. Sailboats and Houseboats alike sit moored at this calm inlet, as the sun sets away from them, leaving the simplicity of the vessels and their reflections to imprint my camera sensor.
The peach and apricot colours of this image are offset by the white of the skies edge and the pink blush starting to come through the glow.
Relax with this strikingly simple image decorating your lounge room, office or bedroom, and think about these peaceful vessels at sunset.

I was heading to work one morning at a different location to normal and drove past this forest of Malaleuca trees. I didn't have my camera with me and it was one of those moments I wish I did. So from that day forward, I took my camera and left a little earlier every day, waiting for the sunrise to do its thing, one more time for me.
I was lucky, only a few days of waiting and the sun shone exactly they way I had hoped and it lit up these magnificent tree trunks and leaves, creating this glowing artwork.

Taken as the very last light of the day leaves the sky, this image reflects the serenity of one of the worlds most precious regions, Kakadu National Park.
The looming cliffs contrast with the extraordinarily green foliage as the vegetation here thrives even in the middle of the Dry Season.
Getting in here is a 4WD only trek, but well worth it if you can ever get here to have a look.
The National Park manages saltwater crocodiles here to make it safe to swim, you can see their boat in the foreground, and if you have eagle eyes you can spot the huge Salty croc trap on the banks of the river.

An early winter morning on the way to the Gallery saw me attempting to make my way to the beaches for what promised to be a beautiful sunrise.
A happy twist of fate saw me running a few minutes late, and I was only at Honeysuckle when the sky began to light up incredibly beautifully.
I parked quickly, grabbed my bag and sprinted for the water's edge, and the first composition that came to me in the moment.
The colour above me lasted only a minute, and I was thanking my lucky stars that everything came together, with the pink clouds leading your eye to the working Newcastle Harbour precinct.

We were dying to go and find some beautiful autumn trees in the area as we love the colours they bring to life. We had heard about a rural community that proudly promoted having a great display of autumn so we did our usual and went for a drive.
It took some time for us to find something where the composition allowed you to drift into your own imagining and allow you to forget about the busy life each rural property entails. The white gates and the beautiful tree lined driveway combine to draw your eye into this image, getting lost in Autumn Splendour.

This photo was taken just inside the grounds of the Darwin Aeromodellers Club at East Point.
We went to East Point with the intention to take photos of the Harbour and mangroves at sunset. While I was scouting the location to find exactly what I wanted to capture, Amanda went for a walk.
She came hurrying back to me, saying that that I should see this beautiful tree and the sunset above it. I thought twice about it, but I had a little time before the sunset was going to light up where I was shooting, so wandered over to look at "the tree".
And this was what she saw, she was right, a stunning tree, with a stunning sunset above it.

Greg and Tarnya visited our Gallery in January as they had been looking to replace a canvas piece they had with something new and modern.
They always wanted a beautiful image of Lake Macquarie, but Greg also really liked the idea of bringing the outside in, by having a shot of their view from their balcony on their wall inside.
We discussed our commission service and Greg and Tarnya welcomed us into their home to capture the shot for them.
This amazing evening occurred on our second visit and attempt, after the weather not playing the part on our first visit.
The added bonus of a commission piece is you can be standing with us while we capture the image and they were. Greg and Tarnya were both amazed with the light show that Mother Nature was providing. They said "we have never seen this here before, the sun rays are amazing". Upon delivery and unveiling of their 80" Acrylic Face-mount print, they told us they still hadn't seen anything like that night since and that the print was "PERFECT!".
We loved getting to know and working with Greg and Tarnya and cannot wait to see the image once it is hung on the wall.

This image was a lucky capture that I shot while leading a photography workshop. I spent my afternoon teaching others how I go about my photography captures and after helping and setting the participants up with their compositions I decided it was my turn to have some fun. So while jumping between participants and my own camera I spent a few minutes on this one.
I love the contrast of day and night, whist showing life in Newcastle city, reflected in the Canoe Pool at Newcastle Baths.

Jim Jim Falls, in Kakadu National Park created one of those life changing moments for me, the ones that you look back on in 10 years and can picture clear as a bell.
Walking in, boulder hopping and hoping not to drop all of my camera gear in the icy Outback water, I was running out of time to make it back to a spot I wanted to capture right at the last light of sunset.
I took the extra time to walk into the final pool here and it just absolutely took my breath away, that somewhere that is so changed by the seasons can be so beautiful.
I perched precariously atop a giant boulder, one of many strewn across this ancient landscape by the unstoppable flows of wet season water, and captured this panorama, stitched together from 5 separate images. It was the only way to attempt to capture the scale of this beautiful spot.
I took some time to drink it all in and really appreciate it, before heading back out to my patiently waiting wife.

This amazing country keeps calling me, long after having left. The Kimberley Region of Western Australia has some of the most interesting and dramatic scenery anywhere in our great land.
Lake Argyle represents an incredible engineering achievement, creating one of Australia’s great food bowls out of previously dry and arid grazing land. The Ord River Dam has backed the water of the Ord River up into one of the largest lakes in the country.
We camped on the shore of the lake the night before this image was taken and the sunset that night gave me great enthusiasm for the colours of the rock walls surrounding the lake. Walls that had been part of river canyons for countless years suddenly saw the evening light reflected onto them from the setting sun. We disembarked from our boat, wary of the freshwater crocodiles that dotted the shoreline, allowing me to get this image with the water of the lake calmed by a long exposure, before we headed back out on the boat for some champagne and a swim.
The lines from previous water marks on the wall create interesting patterns, as well as telling the history of the lake, and the small, stunted trees dotted on the wall immediately capture my interest.
